Nestled into the side of a hill in coastal Northern California is the town of Sausalito and my home garden. This place is where the journey of Botnia Skincare began. And every year we make a hydrosol as a tribute to our land and our love for this place that gives us so much abundance. This year we’ve created Sausalito Garden Hydrosol, distilling the essence of this place into a bottle.

Two years ago, I envisioned incorporating clary sage into our skincare. Clary sage is renowned for soothing sensitive skin and calming inflammation. After carefully cultivating clary sage, our farmer Emily harvested the delicate purple blossoms by hand and distilled them within hours to preserve their potency. The essential oil of clary sage is known for its anti-inflammatory and calming properties. I chose clary sage in this blend to comfort reactive and sensitive skin. Rose petals have always filled my garden with their familiar, soothing fragrance. We cherish our roses for hydrating, softening, and restoring skin health. We picked freshly bloomed rose petals and distilled them to capture their vital essence, rich in vitamins and natural oils that nourish the skin. And finally, sweet lavender brings back memories of peaceful summer days, its fresh aroma calming the senses. This lavender comes from our farm partners' garden in Healdsburg, California. Lavender is nature's balm, used for its soothing and antiseptic properties.
